Lazaretto Restoration: The B.R. Howard Company in Carlisle, PA continues their long work of cleaning and restoring the original 1803 “Philadelphia-style” Pat Lyon hand engine from the Lazaretto Quarantine Station in Tinicum, carefully stabilizing the original colorful paint surviving underneath its later plain varnish and two centuries worth of wear. We look forward to the day the work on this engine is completed and that we can display the engine on the museum floor.
We continue to need support for this important project. Any donation to the Lazaretto restoration fund will be greatly appreciated.
